(SOLD) Meet Laurel!  Laurel is a new custom doll that began as a 1980's Sasha girl.  She is in overall very good condition.  She is the slightly larger 1980's mold (17") with a lighter skin tone.
Laurel wears a handmade dress by melissablondie on Ebay with white stockings and cream colored boots.  She has blue eyes, very subtle freckles and a very long Monique Gold wig that I have cut and styled for her.  It is very soft synthetic mohair and can be styled in so many ways.

I pulled it up on top of her head in braids and have also shown it down.  The hair can be brushed down in bangs or pushed aside for a different look.

Laurel is perfectly suited for a holiday display and would love to find a home for the holidays!   Laurel is $385 and comes signed with a certificate.  I may be contacted here

(SALE PENDING) Meet Sudie!  Sudie is a brand new, one of a kind custom girl and is a portrait of a mid-century Appalachian child.

Sasha Morgenthaler traveled through the world, observing children everywhere.  She created dolls that portrayed children of all races and socioeconomic background and cultures.  While her dolls were all unique and one of a kind dolls, they were united by the same facial molds as well as often using the traditional high yoke dress used on dolls of all cultures and background; from wealthy children to the very poorest.

I recently read about a series of photos from Life Magazine in 1964 about the children of Appalachia

Two children in Appalachia in 1964, captured by Life Magazine photogapher

I realized that while I had created African dolls, Gypsy children dolls and immigrant children, I had never yet created a custom Sasha doll of an Appalachian child.

So here is Sudie.  She began as an early 1969 Gregor doll with bad hair, in need of new features and a remake.  As such, she is an early, smaller and much darker skinned doll than the later dolls.  She can describe herself and her appearance in her own words!

"My name is Sudie.  I live with my mama and papa and my brothers and sisters in the hollow.  My blue gingham top used to be my dress when I was smaller.  But I have grown and now it is too short to be a dress anymore.  So Mama gave me an old pair of my brother's pants that she cut off for me to wear underneath.  So now it's a top.
I can't wear my shoes for anything except for Sunday meeting and winter time.  My dolly goes everywhere with me, even to your house if you adopt me.   I love her very much.  She came in the Christmas gift barrel two years ago from another little girl who donated her along with presents for my brothers and sisters.  Mama made her a new dress last year with scraps from my old red plaid dress.  I love to walk and think and look for things.  I made my necklace with a bead and some stones I found on a walk, and put on a piece of string.
I help Mama in the garden and I carry water to the house.  When I'm not needed for work, I like to sneak away to my grass house with my dolly and play school.  Mama says when I grow up, I'll make a good school teacher!"

Sudie's features have been repainted and sealed and she wears a Monique Gold wig that is two tones of blonde and ginger color.  She is $425 and comes signed with a certificate.

In a time when there is much fear and strife, let's purpose to love each other!  10 percent ($43) of Sudie's adoption fee will go to Samaritan's Purse to aid families fleeing from ISIS in the Middle East.  (Samaritan's Purse is a reputable and long standing relief organization.)
I can be contacted here if you are interested in giving Sudie a home! :)

SOLD  Meet Elsie!
Elsie began as an early anatomically correct early Sasha baby girl and has been rewigged and repainted as  a one of a kind.
She (and her friend Natalia, who is also available for sale, if you scroll down) were inspired by Sasha's girls in white.  She was a well loved baby but does not have any ink or spots; just a little shiny smudge on one cheek.

Her wig is synthetic mohair and fun to style.
Elsie is $195 and her red haired friend is also for sale (on this blog).
She comes signed with a certificate.  I may be contacted here wenarskys@embarqmail.com
(SOLD) Meet Natalia!  Natalia began as a 1970's Sasha and is now a one of a kind redhaired girl.  This is the first time I have used this wig style; it is a Monique Gold synthetic mohair wig.  It is very curly and fun and parted on the side!
Natalia was inspired by Sasha's Edwardian and Victorian style"girls in white".
She wears a handmade dress, white bloomers with shoes and socks.  A lace bow accents her brightly colored hair.

She is absolutely perfect for the holiday season!
She has dark blue eyes and her features are sealed.
Natalia comes signed with a certificate and is $385 plus shipping.
Her little dark haired friend, "Elsie" is also available separately.

*SOLD*This is Destany!  Destany began as a 1980's Sasha girl.  She has been restrung and remade into a one of a kind girl with brown hair and green/brown eyes.

She has a light smattering of freckles across her nose and comes dressed in a simple white eyelet dress with panties, shoes and socks, all in white.

Her wig is a Monique wig and can be parted different ways, as it has a "skin" cap on the top, giving it very natural look (rather than a stitched part).  It is synthetic mohair so it it is very soft and fine.

Destany is a one of a kind and can never be exactly duplicated.  She is $385 and comes as shown.  Her friend, Delaina is available separately.  I may be contacted here

(SOLD) Meet Delaina !  Delaina began as a "quite played with" 1980's Sasha girl. She is not perfect as she has a small nose nick that I smoothed over but is still there and a finger nick.  She needed to be cleaned and restrung and she has some shiny places where she was played with a lot, but she is overall in good condition.  And her cute, pixie-like face makes up for her boo-boos!

She has a Monique Gold Faith wig in "Reddish Brown" and is very long and very similar to the "shaggy" long style of studio dolls.  Her eyes are large and inspired by the large saucer eyes on the Gotz Sashas in the 1960's, or the large eyed studio dolls that Sasha created

She is a "dress me" and comes dressed in white bloomers and slip with shoes and socks so that you can dress her any way you like!  Her features are such that she will look great in a wide variety of colors!

She has a couple of very small lines on her back, I guess from a doll stand.

Delaina comes signed with a certificate and she is $325; overseas shipping is available and I am Paypal verified.   I may be contacted here

(SALE PENDING) Meet Allison!    Allison began as a 1980's Sasha in need of a remake and she is now a one of a kind girl with blonde hair, blue eyes and freckles!

I felt I really needed to do a very light haired girl for summer, so here she is!  She wears a simple summer dress and comes barefoot, so you can put your favorite Sasha shoes on her (also helps me keep the cost down!)  Please excuse the two tiny bits of hair in the closeup photos - I had just snipped two strands of extra long bangs in the front and they ended up on her nose!)

Allison wears a very soft, synthetic mohair human hair wig in a very pale blonde, by Monique.  She has been restrung and is in good condition.  Comes signed by me, (numbered with the month/year of creation) and with a certificate for identification.

She is a one of a kind and can never be exactly duplicated.  She is $325 and shipping dependent on zip code.  I may be contacted here
