January SPECIAL:  I have added some original Sasha doll clothing to my Etsy shop including some earlier pieces.  The link can be found here - once there, search "Sasha" within my shop and they will come up!

(SALE PENDING)  (Scroll down for two others for sale) Meet Clara.  She began as a 1970 Gregor with cut hair and badly oxidized features.  She has the earlier, smaller body and much darker skin tone, so I decided to do a "contrast" with her; using light colored clothing, a very light wig and blue eyes.  Her eyes are painted in a large, watery style, similar to younger Sasha studio dolls, making her face seem small and youthful looking.

Her wig is synthetic mohair and she wears a simple Sasha studio style seamstress-made dress with slip and bloomers.  She is in overall good condition and has been cleaned and restrung. As an early played with doll, she has a very shiny patina.
When I completed her, her delicate appearance reminded me of a ballerina, and this time of year, Clara seemed a perfect name for her.
These three will most likely be the last dolls for 2015 and will come signed with a certificate.   Her price is $360 and I may be contacted here about any of the three shown below.  If you scroll down you will find information about each one of them.
(SOLD) Meet Kai!  Kai's name means "sea" and he is a little brother to Talise, the little oyster gatherer, available below.

Kai has an anatomically correct boy's body and began as a 1970 baby boy with oxidized features.  He has been cleaned and restrung.  His features have been repainted in a watercolor free-style and sealed.  He has a soft synthetic mohair wig.
"Clara! Come and play in the sea with us! Don't worry about your dress!"

(His friend, Clara, and sister are also available for sale. ) He is wearing an adorable antique handmade outfit circa 1930's that I have had in my collection.   (His puppy is just a prop and is not included)   Kai is $215 and comes signed with a certificate.

(SOLD) Meet Talise.  Talise was inspired by the children who traditionally gathered oysters and clams on Chincoteague Island; the most memorable account of which was written about in Marguerite Henry's book "Misty of Chincoteague".  In the classic children's story, Paul and Maureen work by gathering oysters and raking  clams to help raise funds for the upcoming pony auction.

Talise means "lovely water".  She began as a 1980's Sasha.  Her features have been repainted in a free looking Sasha studio style, and sealed.  She has light freckles on her face. Her sun-bleached light red hair is in two careless pigtails.   Her wig is a Monique Gold in a brand new style; one I have never used before.  It has a full center part in the back for braids and when it is worn loose, it looks dry and windblown.
She wears clothing that has been stained and distressed looking to give a realistic appearance of a child working in the sand and dirt.  She comes with her metal bucket full of shells, including some conch shells gathered for her special collection.

Talise is a one of a kind, never to be exactly duplicated.   She comes signed with a certificate and with an original Sasha wrist tag.  I may be contacted here    As always, 10% of the sale price of this doll goes to helping real children through Compassion International.
