Meet Sylvana! Sylvana means "from the forest" and with all her green, I thought it would be a cute name for this new girl!
This lovely girl began as a Gregor from the 1980's. She is in excellent condition except for a very small green dot on her stomach where a snap was. I bought this fabulous outfit from Dreaming Under The Lilacs and had to create a whole doll around it. With the large white apron and full skirt, it reminds me of a little girl's dress from the late 1940's or 1950's.
Sylvana represents a little girl with a wild side. Her mom may have dressed her in a pretty new dress, but she looks like she's about to go out and make mud pies or climb a tree!
She has a synthetic mohair wig - this is not real mohair, but is soft and natural looking like mohair but has the strength and resilience of synthetic fiber. I have cut it in a short 1950's style and it is pulled over to the side. The hairstyle and color that inspired me was the little Sasha studio doll shown in the "Look" magazine article "Grandmother and Her Dolls" from the 1950's. She has green/blue eyes and a smattering of freckles on her face.
Below she is showing that she can sometimes look like a nice little girl with her hair combed! :)
Her little toys are just props and don't go with her, but I'm sure her new parent will buy her some lovely new ones to play with!
Sylvana is $310 and if you are interested in giving this spirited girl a home, email me at wenarskys@embarqmail.com
